Background Information
John Hamilton brings 20 years of experience in organizational leadership, business development and corporate finance. His early career years focused on corporate finance where he held senior roles in corporate and investment banking. John went on to serve as VP Finance for a leading Canadian bank and later assumed broader corporate development responsibilities where he participated in strategy design, resource allocations, proprietary acquisitions and divestitures, and led major restructurings and cost reduction initiatives.
Since 2004, John has been providing his broad experiences, corporate disciplines, and leadership capabilities to private equity investors and their entrepreneurial-driven companies to help maximize shareholder value through the various stages of acquisition, business development and to execute profitable liquidity events. John has served as interim president of a Canadian financial institution, chief financial officer for a business services company, directed successful restructuring projects, overseen the redesign of business processes, led the successful bid and award of significant client contracts, led various M&A initiatives, provided liquidity for investors and has provided advisory services in the assessment of investment opportunities for some of North America's most successful private equity funds.
John has successfully led a wide range of change management initiatives involving business alignment and structuring, business recovery and transformation, client acquisitions, building management teams and succession planning, outsourcing, mergers, acquisitions, financing and optimized exit strategies. John is an enthusiastic and innovative leader with strong project management capabilities and a results-orientation and a focus on shareholder value enhancement.
